History

It all began almost 40 years ago. In 1974, Airquick was established as a company dedicated to providing fast, reliable, integrated and customer-focused service to compressed air users. The market was dominated by major manufacturers, driven predominantly by sales volume, with little regard for the integration of design, installation and long-term maintenance provision.

EARLY CONTRACTS

The installation and commissioning of three 800cfm compressors for Ruston Gas Turbines in Lincoln, followed by the provision of a compressed air system in North Humberside, for a 440ft long building housing the shot-blasting and painting operation for sections of the Humber Bridge.

EXPANDING OPERATIONS

We began working with British Rail in York. This was initially a five-year programme involving the replacement of time-expired plant, and the installation of compressors and associated equipment into Eastern Region rail depots. This service was successfully extended to other rail depots across the UK.

Subsequently we diversified into supplying chemical pumping rigs, controlled emission toilet (CET) facilities, platform bowsers and ultimately, a carriage wash plant for London Underground at Northumberland Park depot. Since then, we have installed similar wash plants for LU at Hammersmith and Waterloo & City underground depots.
